AKA NYC Announced as Agency of Record for The New York Botanical Garden

NEW YORK – September 8, 2022 – AKA, the award-winning, fully integrated creative advertising agency representing the very best in live entertainment and iconic, cultural destinations, has been appointed as the advertising agency of record for The New York Botanical Garden (“NYBG”), effective immediately. The appointment followed a competitive bid process, and reinforces AKA’s unique expertise in delivering holistic, end-to-end creative solutions for the arts, culture and destinations industry.

NYBG, located in the Bronx, is the most comprehensive botanical garden in the world and, with its wide-ranging educational and research programs, has been an integral part of the cultural fabric of New York City for more than 130 years. The partnership will see AKA deliver full-service media planning and buying, as well as creative services, to drive attendance for the Botanical Garden’s major exhibitions, including the 31st edition of the Holiday Train Show® and the third year of NYBG GLOW, New York City’s largest outdoor holiday light experience.

AKA has worked with NYBG since 2016 delivering digital projects, including website design and the award-winning interactive mobile guides for several key exhibitions such as CHIHULY and Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawaiˈi.

“The Garden is one of my favorite places in NYC and has been a favorite client in the digital space for the past six years. The opportunity to partner with NYBG in a full-service capacity and promote its world-class programming to new and developing audiences, is a truly exciting prospect” says Kevin Bradley, vice president and head of arts institutions at AKA.

“We are thrilled to partner with AKA to reach a broader and more diverse audience base with our ongoing mix of major exhibitions, on-site and digital programming, and wide array of Adult and Children’s Education offerings, and to utilize advertising to engage the public with NYBG’s collections and research, teaching them that plants are foundational to all life on earth and emphasizing the importance of plants in helping to solve the climate and biodiversity crises,” says Michael Crowley, chief marketing officer at NYBG.

“NYBG is a New York City icon that offers so much to so many. The work they do to support a sustainable future for all of us is paramount and we’re humbled to partner with this institution to bring their important mission to life,” says Elizabeth Furze, chief executive officer at AKA NYC. “We look forward to a long and successful relationship producing ground-breaking work together.”
