The Inheritance tells an epic New York story about the lives of contemporary gay men. To announce its debut on its home turf, we wanted to create a trailer that captured the play’s kinetic New York energy and its astonishing depiction of gay American history.
Rapid cuts and sped-up footage were used throughout the trailer to communicate the play’s vitality, with special emphasis given to scenes of New York and New Yorkers. In crucial moments, though, the action slowed to contemplate not only the stellar London reviews, but also scenes of LGBT milestones in America. Accompanied by poignant music from the production, these moments indicated that within its fast-paced storytelling, The Inheritance carried an enormous heart.
