Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Marks 7th Broadway Anniversary with New “Share the Magic” Television Commercial

The Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child marked a major milestone last month with the debut of a brand-new national television commercial. Released on April 22, the spot commemorates seven magical years on Broadway and invites audiences across the country to “Share the Magic” of the record-breaking theatrical experience.

The new 60-second commercial captures the theatrical wonder and emotional resonance that has defined the production since it opened at the Lyric Theatre in 2018. With cinematic visuals, sweeping music, and quick glimpses of the show’s awe-inspiring illusions and choreography, the campaign transports viewers into the heart of the Wizarding World —reminding them that the next chapter of Harry Potter’s story continues to unfold on stage.

Timed with the show’s 7th Broadway anniversary, the commercial is part of a refreshed marketing push that positions Cursed Child as both a legacy title and a must-see live experience for a new generation of theatergoers. From spell-casting duels to time-turning suspense, the spot distills the high-stakes drama and visual spectacle that have drawn millions of fans to the show.

Since opening in 2018, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has welcomed over 2.5 million audience members and grossed more than $330 million, making it one of the highest-grossing non-musical plays in Broadway history. Originally staged in two parts, the production was streamlined into a single-evening format in 2021.

Miky Wolf, Chief Creative Officer at AKA shared, “Crafting this new piece was all about honoring the show’s legacy while embracing the excitement of new audiences discovering the magic for the first time. We wanted the spot to feel as timeless and transformative as the story itself.”

The campaign coincided with renewed fan excitement around International Harry Potter Day, which fell just 10 days later on May 2—a meaningful date for Potter fans worldwide. While the timing was not directly promotional, it served to amplify the show’s presence across digital and social platforms, as Wizarding World nostalgia surged once again.

The “Share the Magic” campaign includes national broadcast placements, digital and social media spots, and out-of-home assets across New York City. As Broadway enters a busy summer season, the commercial positions Cursed Child as a top destination for families, tourists, and lifelong fans of the franchise.
